Peer Mentors

Wellbeing Warriors - Peer Support Service

Our team of Peer Mentors are proud to be helping the pupils of Broughton Junior School with any worries or concerns they may have. Based in the Library at the Infant School and The Bridge at the Junior School, they are available at lunchtimes for pupils to drop in and talk to them.

Before becoming a Wellbeing Warrior, the team complete a full day’s training from Bucks Mind. During these sessions, they learn about mental health, looking after their own wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of others, how to support pupils and the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality.

What just some of our Wellbeing Warriors have to say about being a Peer Mentor ….

"I wanted to be a Peer Mentor because I love to help people and know what it feels like to be sad or worried. I am a good listener so I can lend a helping ear to whoever needs it. Don’t forget: “We care, not share!” - Melody

"I think I’m the Wellbeing Warrior that not only helps people but I try to be funny for you too! I like football, board games and more, so we are bound to have something in common.  It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice." :)  - Leo
