Broughton Community Schools’ PTA
We are a group of parents, teachers and friends who volunteer and work together to raise much needed additional funds for the school and our children. Over the years we have organised World Book Day tea parties, festivals, winter warmers, a circus, quiz nights, school discos, film nights, as well as pre-loved uniform sales and Friday lolly sales in the summer (there's nothing like an ice cream to finish off the week!).
Our main role as a registered charity is to raise funds for the children of Broughton Community Schools and work closely with the school to decide on and plan events to raise funds for items such as outdoor play projects, school trips, Spanish lessons, library refurbishment and library books. Not only do the events raise money but they also give children experiences at school which they might not otherwise have. Our recent Junior disco was a big hit with all the children. One comment “It was the best disco I have ever been to. I rate it 9.5/10, fizzy drinks would have made it a 10!”.
What can you do?
We wouldn’t be able to run the events and raise money for the schools if we didn’t have the support from our wonderful community of parents, teachers and friends. You don’t have to be an active member of the PTA to help. You may be able to donate a raffle prize (or know someone who can), help out for an hour at one of our events or simply come along to enjoy the events themselves! Any support, big or small is appreciated.
