Skills / Experience/Background:

I have always enjoyed the thought of being able to help people. This passion led me to study a Sports Therapist Degree at the University of Hertfordshire. After three years of study and an Internship I made the decision that the industry was not for me. However, my passion to help people was not lost. I completed a PGCE at the Brunel University and had the pleasure of carrying out my placement at Broughton Junior School. That Summer I was offered a permanent role as a class teacher at Broughton and have not looked backed since.

I have taught years 3 and 5 and after the federation, took the decision to move into Key stage 1 where I currently teach year 1. Having now worked in both buildings it is clear to see why Broughton Community Schools is a special place to work. There is a strong sense of teamwork, friendship and dedication to ensure the children have the best possible experience during their years here.

As well as teaching, my time here has allowed me to lead computing across key stage 2 and my most recent role - leading science across key stage 1 and 2. Since September, I have also taken on the role of subject co-ordinator. A role I thoroughly enjoy as it allows me to see how the curriculum is constantly evolving and improving for the children.

I have also really enjoyed running the school football team alongside Mr. Hearn. The football club has given me an opportunity to create relationships with pupils I may not have met without the club. I have seen friendships and confidence in children grow which has been very rewarding.

Outside of school I am passionate about health and fitness. I play football and go to the gym when possible. I also enjoy spending time with my family and as a dad to be, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for both my family and Broughton Community schools.
